Erbil International Fair 2010
18 October - 21 October 2010

The 6th International Erbil Trade Fair

Exhibition Overview

Over the past few years, Iraq has attracted massive interest from the international business community in the secure and stable region of Kurdistan now dubbed as “The Other Iraq”.

ERBIL: THE NORTHERN GATEWAY TO IRAQ, PROMOTING IRAQ FROM THE INSIDE
Erbil is the capital and seat of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG). It serves as the Northern Gateway to Iraq and is the epicenter of a region offering all the advantages that matter in the era of globalization.

DOING BUSINESS IN KURDISTAN
The KRG investment law was passed in July 2006 and an Investment Board was created to manage and promote it. This Investment Law is one of the friendliest to foreign investors looking for lucrative business ventures. Some benefits of this law include:
• Entitlement to buy and own land for investment purposes
• 10 year non-custom tax break
• Ownership of all the capital of any project
• Allocation of free or reduced price land for investment projects
• Repatriation of profits in full

DOING BUSINESS IN IRAQ
Iraq harbors an enormous untapped economic potential and offers great rewards for investors. A new Investment Law was passed which allows 100% foreign ownership and management of Iraqi enterprises - except for the oil, gas, finance and insurance sectors. It also establishes the freedom to transfer abroad all funds associated with investments. Recently, this Investment Law was ratified allowing investors to now own land in Iraq.

USD$70 BILLION FOR IRAQI KEY SECTORS
The Iraqi government has undertaken a massive $70 billion plan to invest in key sectors. This opens up a great range of opportunities for international companies, including small to medium enterprises:
• $25 billion in Housing Projects
• $17.812 billion in Agriculture
• $8 billion in Transportation
• $5.539 billion in Water and Sewage
• $3.725 billion in Healthcare
• $6.329 billion in Education and Higher Education
• $1.5 billion in Border Security
• $0.595 billion in Communications
• $1.5 billion in Youth, Sports, Culture and Justice

ERBIL INTERNATIONAL FAIR 2010: A PLATFORM TO NETWORK WITH DECISION-MAKERS FROM ACROSS IRAQ
Erbil International Fair 2010 will feature exhibitors from various sectors, all of them eager to do business in Kurdistan and Iraq. It will be the ideal meeting point to network and explore new business opportunities with key decisions makers, investors, distributors, agents, traders and government officials.
